Jordan: NCFA follows up on child rights draft law

National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) Secretary General Haifa Abu Ghazaleh said the council is currently following up with the Lower House on the children’s rights draft law.

Abu Ghazaleh said the law’s articles enshrine children’s basic rights and the welfare of children with special needs. Marking the national day for protecting children from abuse, which is celebrated on June 6, Abu Ghazaleh said the council seeks to protect families against violence in general as well as children and women’s rights.

Established in 2001, the NCFA is a civil society organisation that supports, coordinates and facilitates the work of relevant institutions involved in the field of family affairs, according to its website.
